The Indian market

When we talk about the Indian equity market, there are two major stock exchanges - BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange). A stock can list on either of two, or it could be on both exchanges. The Indian market functions from Monday to Friday and is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Apart from the weekly closure, the stock market is closed on other days - national holidays and festivals.
